Protonka Recycling collects and bales the recycled paper, where after the bales are sent to the different recycling plants.

Some of the items that can be made from recycled paper are as follows:

Protonka collects, sorts and chips the collected plastic, where after the bags of chips are sent to the relevant recycling plants.

• Clear or coloured plastic bags / wrap

We do the collection and baling of aluminium cans, where after the bales are sent to the foundries where the cans are processed as follows:

• Aluminium cans are sorted in a treatment plant.
• It then goes through a re-melting process.
• Melted aluminium is then made into large blocks. These blocks are sent to mills where they are rolled out.
• The rolled out aluminium is then made into products such as cans, meal packaging, wrapping, etc.

Protonka Recycling collects and crushes the glass, where after the glass pieces are packed in one tonne bags. The bags are sent to the relevant foundries where the glass gets processed as follows:

• The glass gets sorted into different colours and washed to remove impurities.
• Then the glass is crushed and melted.
• Glass bottles and jars are then made.
• Glass can be recycled over and over.
